Lyna Lee spent years listening to other people’s stories. Somewhere along the way, she realized it was time to start building her own.
A mother and talent acquisition specialist, Lee built a career understanding people beyond the résumé. Outside work, she created a women’s book club that became something deeper: a space for vulnerability, connection and real-life conversations. That planted a seed.
Lee wasn’t simply fascinated by stories. She knew how to create spaces where people felt safe enough to tell them.
Touch Upon a Time was born from that instinct.
With no built-in platform behind her, Lee started with an idea, a microphone and the willingness to figure it out. The podcast grew into Touch Upon a Time Productions LLC—and changed how she saw herself.
“It gave me permission to stop waiting for someone else to give me an opportunity and create one for myself.”
Now Lee is expanding beyond podcasting into producing, film and television while continuing to surround herself with creative community.
But ambition isn’t the most interesting part of her plan. Purpose is.
She wants her work to leave people feeling seen, understood or less alone. She wants her children to see that you don’t need the entire roadmap before taking the first step—and eventually, she wants to create opportunities for others too.
“I’m not trying to simply build a career,” Lee says. “I’m building a legacy.”
Her growing creative world also includes Latinas Acting Up (LAU), a community that reflects her commitment to surrounding herself with other women in the creative industry and creating space for collaboration and connection.
