MELISSA GABRIEL: The Art Of Making You Feel

For actor and host Melissa Gabriel, a memorable performance isn’t simply watched—it’s felt.

The best characters stay with us. They make us laugh, break our hearts and sometimes allow us to recognize pieces of ourselves in someone else.

That emotional connection is exactly what Melissa Gabriel hopes to create every time she steps into a role.

“I want people to relate and empathize with my character, the same as I do with my favorite movie, theatre or TV characters,” Gabriel says.

“I want them to feel strong feelings—to come away having wept or laughed hysterically.”

Gabriel recently completed the pilot Lit by Mateo Marquez and Mantic Productions, playing Maria, a “witchy woman” who allowed her to explore a different kind of character.

She’s hoping the pilot gets picked up as she looks toward a new chapter filled with more opportunities in front of the camera.

“I love acting and hosting, and I hope to do both!” she says.

But there’s one role still sitting firmly on Gabriel’s wish list: the villain.

“I have never played a villain, and I would love to try that!”

It could be the perfect challenge for a performer fascinated by empathy. After all, unforgettable villains have motivations, vulnerabilities and stories of their own.

Finding the humanity beneath the darkness offers another opportunity to make an audience feel something unexpected.

Whether what comes next is television, film, hosting—or the deliciously wicked character she’s waiting to play—Gabriel is ready to stretch, explore and connect.

Because she isn’t simply chasing her next role. She’s chasing that moment when a performance becomes something an audience carries with them.

Not simply being watched—but making you feel.
